HUMANISTIC THERAPY

Humanistic therapy is a positive approach to psychotherapy that focuses on the person as an individual rather than placing people into categories and assuming they have similar characteristics. This therapeutic approach is derived from a school of thought that recognizes the good in all of us as individuals. It also takes the stance that we are all capable of making our own decisions.

Humanistic therapy is used to treat depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family issues, and even low self-esteem.

As a humanistic therapist, I provide an atmosphere of support, trust, and empathy. I create a safe space where you can share feelings and experience without fear of judgment. My role is not one of authority. Instead, together, we will build a relationship between equals.

Never ever think of giving up. Winners never quit and quitters never win. Take all negative words out of your mental dictionary and focus on the solutions.

A humanistic approach can help you deal with what troubles you

Humanistic therapy is effective for a wide range of issues faced by individuals including;

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Panic disorders
  • Personal development
  • Addiction
  • Relationship issues
  • Family issues
  • Personality disorders
  • Schizophrenia

Humanistic therapy takes a holistic approach that focuses less on pathology and more on the positive side of human nature. Humanistic therapy takes the aim of helping you, as an individual, fulfill your needs and reach your individual potential to become self-actualized.

But what does self-actualization mean? It can take many forms, depending on you and your needs. Self-actualization can mean, for you, pursuing creative endeavors, spiritual enlightenment, wisdom or altruism. It is my goal as a humanistic therapist to help you find inner peace and happiness.

A humanistic approach with families

The humanistic approach is also effective for resolving problems resulting from intra-family relations and other factors affecting the family such as parenting, psychological disorders, and the relationship dynamics between the couple.

Family challenges are closely related to individual personalities and how they interact with each other. The humanistic approach to counseling can help family members to understand themselves, to become aware of emotional and psychological issues that may be affecting themselves and other family members. Through the process of therapy, family members can adopt new constructive behaviors, develop positive relationships, and live a happier and more peaceful life together.
